#AI4M: Free eBook — Teaching Marketing in the Age of AI

I’ve just released a free eBook, Teaching Marketing in the Age of AI, written for college instructors who are wrestling with the same questions I am: How do I teach marketing content, critical thinking, and AI skills—without sacrificing any of the three? And how do I do it when students can now produce polished-looking homework in seconds?

The book argues that active learning, and, if you’re ready for it, flipping your class, is the environment where the cognitive work that builds lasting expertise cannot be outsourced to AI. The ebook is organized as a reference guide around practical questions, with evidence from the literature and two decades of trial and error in my own Principles of Marketing sections at Colorado State.

Also included: 13 sample in-class activities, each with teaching notes. Samples cover content that includes first week of class (Chapter 1), consumer behavior (Chapter 5), organizational buying behavior (Chapter 6), marketing research (Chapter 7), channels of distribution (Chapter 10), paid, earned, and owned media (Chapter 16), pricing (Chapter 18), and macro-marketing (Chapter 19).
