Democratizing Television Advertising

I have to admit, I usually try to avoid television advertising. I pay for the upgrade in order to avoid ads. The exception for me (and may people) is live sports. So when I recently watched the NCAA basketball tournament, I was surprised by an ad for Vibe.co. First, I was surprised to see a B2B ad on a big TV program. Then, I learned about Vibe.co and realized that maybe my TV knew I was in marketing so the ad was served up right to me. Because that is what Vibe.co does.

I tried to find the exact ad that was served up to me, but couldn’t. I did find a similar ad on Facebook. From there, I went to Vibe.co’s website and saw a testimonial:

From there, I wanted to learn more about how Vibe.co worked. It appears to be amazingly easy.

Wow! Amazed by the technology that might help TV get back some of the advertising dollars it has lost to social media. This would be a neat example to use with Chapter 15 on advertising.
